After surviving a heart attack in the same week that one killed his father,  veteran, Michael Killik decided he had to change his way of life. He realized early in his diet research that his love for hot sauces, which typically sport a ton of sodium, could very well have contributed to his heart attack!
A former science teacher, he had been fascinated by and playing with fermentation to make his own hot sauce at home.  After a bit of experimentation, he found that what he was creating looked, and most importantly, tasted better than what he’d found in stores! Plus it had far less sodium, so it was much healthier too!
Wanting to help others like himself, to eat healthier but still enjoy intense flavors, Mike decided to bottle his sauces for the masses. Thus Killik Hot Sauce co was born!
